Dewey’s Demise, Sarah Taylor

Dewey’s

Demise

By Sarah Taylor

Peering down the cobbled puzzle cradled in my palm,

my treasure greets me from a Cheshire shelf just out of reach

while tippy toes and taut digits tease it out, I grin right back.

Buried beneath volumes of hypotheses, I hover as

stones slip away, swirling among a sea of zeroes and ones

seductively staring from a silent screen that sirens: SEARCH.

Sarah Taylor claims Mexican, Swedish and German heritage but speaks English and Portuguese, and is learning Russian and Japanese. She can be found in the Occult/Spirituality section of used bookstores or in an airport lounge. While typing out this bio, she’s added “renew passport” to her to-do list.
